FAQ

Who can access these services?

Our mental health services are offered to children ages 0 to 18 and their parents/caregivers.

Are there any costs to your services?

No. Our services are completely free.

Where will the meetings be held?

Most appointments are held out of our Cornwall and Alexandria offices. We also provide virtual services and support by phone, text and email. Please consult our website for any updates.

Who can request services?

Services can be requested by parents/legal guardians, health professionals, school personnel, community agencies and by teenagers themselves who are 12 years of age and older. All services are offered on a voluntary basis. Click here to request services.

If I live outside of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, can I still access your services?

Yes. If you are willing to travel to Cornwall or Alexandria, you may access our services. We also offer remote services through the Zoom virtual platform.

What can I expect after requesting services?

The intake worker is responsible for receiving request for services. The worker must first obtain the youth’s and/or their parents’ or legal guardians’ consent. An intake meeting can then be scheduled. During this meeting, the intake worker will gather pertinent information to better assess the child, youth and/or families’ needs. They will then be directed to the appropriate services.

Can parents get services?

Yes. L’Équipe psycho-sociale offers services to parents or legal guardians who want to better understand their child’s mental health needs and to develop effective parenting skills. These services can be offered individually in the office, within the community and/or at home. They are also offered in group settings. Click here to find the list of groups offered.

What if I miss my appointment?

If you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, please notify the worker 24 hours in advance. If you miss two consecutive appointments without prior notice, the file will be closed.
